   Media Cage

The Media Cage houses departmental photographic and electronic media equipment available for checkout to registered students. In addition to a variety of medium-format and large-format cameras, camcorders, audio recorders and microphones, tripods and lighting equipment, students can also reserve time in private darkrooms, the digital printing service bureau, a private lighting studio and an advanced electronic media lab utilizing Power Macintosh machines equipped with final cut studio video production software as well as an array of digital audio production hardware.

If you are a graduate student or are enrolled in a photography or electronic media class, you can register for Media Cage use. The student’s class level will determine the equipment available to them for checkout, as certain items in our inventory are reserved for advanced and/or graduate use. Eligible students who wish to use the Media Cage must first read the Cage Policies and complete the Media Cage media use form. Return the form to the cage where you will receive a checkout card that must be signed by a faculty member before the card can be activated. Students must re-register each semester in order to verify enrollment in a photo/EM class and to determine each student’s equipment eligibility.
