Any student enrolled in the school of art and art history may apply for 3-day use of the space by contacting the Media Cage and applications are approved by committee. Please note that certain Electronic Media class events will take precedence over a studentŐs desired requested presentation date.

Exhibition Policy

  1. Your exhibition must be staged, presented and removed during the three-day period of the key/room reservation. After your exhibition closes, the space must be cleaned and returned to its original condition and be ready for the next artistŐs exhibition no later than 2:00 p.m. No changes are to be made to these dates and times unless you have made special arrangement with the Media Cage. You must pick up a key for the space from the cage monitor, FAH 289 by 4:00 pm the day before your exhibition opens. The key must be returned the next business day morning following your exhibition close.
  2. At the end of the exhibition and after the work is removed from the space, the gallery must be returned by you to the condition in which it was found in preparation for the next exhibition. This includes spackling, sanding and painting of all holes made in the walls, and complete removal of any debris left from the exhibition and reception.
  3. You are responsible for all basic supplies needed for hanging the exhibition. You may not utilize hanging methods that result in damage to the walls, ceiling, floor, or lighting system. Any unusual installation requirements should be discussed with the Media Cage (FAH 289) before proceeding with the installation of the exhibition.
  4. The student is responsible for providing any additional lighting that may be required for the exhibition.
  5. If applicable, the student is responsible for exhibitions labels, announcements and artist statement.
  6. You must either sit in the gallery or find someone to do so for the hours your exhibit is open. It must be understood that ILMSSPACE is an uninsured space. No compensation will be provided in event of damage or theft of artwork or equipment that is placed in the space during the exhibition.
  7. Any questions or concerns about your upcoming exhibition should be discussed with the Media Cage well in advance of your installation date.
