The School of Art and Art History, the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and the University itself provide various forms of graduate student financial aid. Below is a list of types of current assistance available and how to apply.
University Graduate Fellowships in Art
About $7,000–$10,000
per year, often with tuition waivers.
Graphicstudio Graduate Assistantships
For one or
two exceptionally talented high-achievement students to assist world-famous
artists at USF's acclaimed center of art research and production, about
$8,000 per year plus tuition waivers.
Graduate Student Assistantships
About 20 available
each semester, for exceptional students to teach or assist classes and
work in other capacities in the School of Art and Art History or the
Contemporary Art Museum, amounts vary from about $4,000 to $8,000 per
year plus tuition waivers.
James Rosenquist Fellowships
Named for the famous
American artist, a local resident. Awards vary in amount, usually from
$2,000 to $6,000.
Harrison and Jane Covington Award
About $1,000.
Jean Rozier Winter Fellowships
About $700-$1,500,
for exceptional students. Determined by faculty.
Graduate Student Research Awards
About $500-$1,000
for materials or travel related to studio and art history research and
creative activity. Determined by faculty. Applications annually. Notices
posted and in student mailboxes.
Las Damas de Arte Scholarships and Awards
About $500-$1,500.
Determined by faculty. See posted announcements around the Art Building
(FAH). Also, awards provided to the USF Annual Student Art Exhibition
each Spring.
Faculty/Staff Awards
About $250-$500. Provided to
the USF Annual Student Exhibition.
Students Art Exhibition Awards
Including the Salvador
Dali Museum "Best of Show Award," $6,000-$10,000 awarded annually
to outstanding artworks in the Annual USF Student Art Exhibition, held
each Spring. Competitive and juried.

NOTE: There is no application process for most of the financial aid awards described above. Awards are determined by Faculty and the School’s Director based on achievements and abilities of our students and applicants to our programs.
